Description of Emmision Scenario Files

NewClimate Change

Each data file contains daily values for simulated flow for a particular (emission scenario - general circulation model combination) for the period from Jan 1, 2008 through Dec 31, 2095. Each file is a little over 2 Mb in size and contains the following columns:

ClimateModel - the general circulation model used to generate the simulated flow value
Scenario - the emissions scenario used to generate the simulated flow value
ParameterName - the PRMS code for the output location (in this case segment_cfs204 = Pateros)
Day - day in the simulation period
Month - month in the simulation period
Year - year in the simulation period
CentralYear - central year of the simulation period
YearRange - the simulation period used to generate the simulated flow value
Average - the simulated flow value

The following naming convention was used for the data files:

Emissions scenarios - Time period - Description
SRESa2 - 2001-99 - Very heterogeneous world with high population growth and slow economic growth
SRESb1 - 2001-99 - Convergent world with low population growth and rapid changes in economic structure
SRESa1b - 2001-99 - World with very rapid economic growth, a global population that peaks in mid-century and rapid introduction of new and more efficient technologies balanced across all sources
