Technical Announcement 98-1

The Washington State section of the National Water Summary on wetland resources is now available in electronic format on the Washington District's Home Page. The report can be read or downloaded by accessing the Internet address Each of the figures can be viewed separately by hypertext link to a GIF file.

The report, published in 1996 as U.S. Geological Survey Water-Supply Paper 2425, discusses the types and distribution of wetlands in the State of Washington. It provides insight on the hydrologic setting of these ecosystems throughout the state as well as estimates of wetland losses from presettlement to present days. Lastly, the report classifies the wetland-related activities of government agencies and private organizations in Washington as of 1993.
