WA145 - Water Supply of the North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area - Completed FY1986

Problem - North Cascades National Park and the two recreational areas were incorporated in the National park system in 1968. Present public-facility operations in these areas are largely those taken over from the U.S. Forest Service. In order to develop new facilities and expand existing ones a general knowledge of the hydrology of the area and specific knowledge at areas requiring expansion or development of water facilities is needed.

Objectives - Furnish the National Park Service hydrologic data in enough detail to insure development of adequate water supplies where visitor centers are or will be developed.

Approach - Reconnaissance of general areas of potential or future development will be made. More detailed information on ground-water availability or surface-water supplies will be developed at specific sites, including test drilling. Letter reports will be furnished to the National Park Service.
